This is one of the most important and famous historical caves that is present in the state of Maharashtra. It is located in the district of Jalgaon and there are 20 caves in total; all of them have been cut out from rocks. They have a lot of sculptures and different kinds of paintings in it. It is said that the caves of Ellora and Ajanta are famous worldwide due to the architectural exquisites that it carries. One can also find some other natural caves in this state like Kanheri caves, Elephanta caves and Bhaja caves.
This is a hill station which is situated on the Western Ghats of Maharashtra state. The hill station lies at a height of 1353 meters and it is from here the River Krishna originates and flows down through the state. The river water starts flowing from a place which resembles the shape of the mouth of a cow and it is located within a temple dedicated to Lord Shiva. In summers, most people find a gate away in this place and one can also trek to the mountains to make their holidays more adventurous.
Koyna Wildlife Sanctuary

This one is located in Koyna and one can get to see the beauty of Western Ghats on one side and the beautiful Shivsagar Lake on the other side. This place covers a land of 420 square kilometres and one can get to see a lot of wild animals here like tigers, sloth bears, giant squirrels, cobras, pythons and brown capped woodpeckers. This place is situated at a distance of 183 kilometres from Pune city and the best time to visit this place is in between October to April. One can go for safaris inside the forest and this one is a photographer’s delight. With a hunting license and a complete AR-10 rifle, one can declare his interest to the Wildlife Preservation Officer and get cracking hunting his game for some of the allowed species.
